3rd International Puppet Festival 2015 will be held on 5th Feb 2015 to 8th Feb 2015

3rd International Puppet Festival 2015 will be held on 5th February 2015 to 8th February 2015 at Tagore Theatre, Sector-18, Chandigarh. There will be two shows on 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. This puppet fest is organized by Department of Cultural Affairs U.T. Chandigarh and Tagore Theatre Society in collaboration with Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust, New Delhi. It will be inaugurate by Sh. Vijay Kumar Dev [IAS], Advisor to Administration, U.T. Chandigarh on 5th February 2015 at 1:00 PM. Through this one step of Chandigarh puppet culture would be alive. Childrens would come to know about puppet and definitely enjoy the puppets. We appreciate this step by joining the event with family especially with kids.

On 5th February 2015, the Portugal show name “Etc.” will be present by S.A.Marionetas & Teatro & Bonecos. It is directed by Jose Gill and Sofia OlivencaVinagre. It’s a 45 minute long non-verbal act with the simplicity of puppets that bring us to a magical world. On 6th February 2015, a 50 minutes long act “The Lion who could not write letter” would be present by Afghanistan. It is directed by AbdulhaqHaqjoo and would be performed by Parwaaz Puppet Theatre. It’s a simple sweet story about a lion that is illiterate and want to impress the lioness that is literate. The Lion ask his friends to write a letter on his behalf to lioness. But every time lioness comes to know that letter was not written by lion himself. After getting know that lion is illiterate lioness literate him and they live happily ever after.

7th February 2015, Taiwan will entertain us with the act “The Paper Plan” directed by Sun, Chen-Chieh (Jack) and performed by Puppet Beings Theatre. It’s a 60 minutes long musical act based on that all childrens afraid of a old man sitting in park as their mom said that do not talk to strangers. Through imagination paper changes into more than fifty different characters. You all will enjoy it with laughter.
On 8thy February 2015, India will present “Pinocchio-The Wood Boy”. It’s a 50 minutes long hindi/musical show that is directed by Shameem Ansari and performed by Kuch Kuch Puppet Theatre. It’s a fairytale of a puppet boy who get life from blue fairy. This act is about child’s thinking, adventures, about truth & Lies, Innocence.
