Chandigarh’s New International Airport is constructed at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar [SAS Nagar], Mohali, Punjab. PM Narender Modi inaugurated International Airport on Friday, 11-Sept-2015.

Chandigarh international Airport will be helpful for Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. All types of international flight would be started as soon as possible. All domestic flights that are operated from Chandigarh airport will get shifted to the new airport soon.

New International Airport is spread over around 305 acres of Land. The airport has 48 check-in counters, 4 aerobridges, 53000 square meter terminal, 6 escalators, 14 lifts, parking bay for 8 aircrafts with night landing, air conditioned lounge, Wi-Fi, restaurants, bar, LCD TV and automated parking space for 500 vehicles. It can handle near about 1600 domestic and international passengers.

Chandigarh International Airport Ltd (CHIAL), a joint venture between Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the governments of Punjab and Haryana have been taken care of all formalities and construction work as well. AAI has 51 per cent stake in the project while Punjab and Haryana have 24.5 per cent equity each. International Airport construction work has been completed by L &T.
