World Tourism Week Celebration By Tourism Department  Punjabi Singer Jasbir Jassi Live Performance

Chandigarh Tourism Department and STEPS [Society for Tourism & Entertainment Promotion in Chandigarh] is celebrating World Tourism Week. STEPS is to promote tourism and entertainment in the Union Territory of Chandigarh in accordance with policies and action plan of Chandigarh Administration. This society also promotes Medical, Heritage, Adventure, Sports, Cinematic and all other tourism in Chandigarh.

It is celebrating as a festival cum annual event. Its four days schedule, in which lots of fun activities and cultural programmes like quiz, painting, photography competitions, musical shows etc. are lined up. All tourist and visitors will be welcome by Chandigarh Hospitality Association with bouquet and tourist literature. On this occasion, Open Hand Monument, Museum and Art Gallery, Tourist Information Center, Capital Complex will be well decorated. On September 28, 2014 Punjabi night by singer Jasbir Jassi was organized New Lake, Sector-42, Chandigarh at 6.30 PM.

Jasbir Jassi born on 7th February 1970 in Dalla Mirjanpur Village, Gurdaspur, Punjab. He is a Punjabi singer and actor. As a child he played the Harmonium. He quit engineering to study music under V.S. Jolly and later under Puran Shah Koti of Sufiana fame. He holds a Masters degree in classical vocal music from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. Jassi is a first generation musician participated in many plays like ‘Sadhu Bugdu Bulo’. He was widely noticed due to performances he gave for the North Zone Cultural Centre.
Then he started recording for Punjabi films like Passport, Zakhmi in the late 1980s. His first album release was in 1993 ‘Channa Ve Teri Channani’. This was followed up with a string of hit albums like Dil le gayi (1998), kudi-kudi (1999), Nishani Pyar Di (2001) etc. In 2011, Jassi’s first film ‘Khushiyan’ was released.
