People of Chandigarh Mohali Panchkula celebrated Karwa Chauth Pooja on 11th Oct 2014. On the eve of Karwa Chauth Pooja Chandigarh ,Panchkula and Mohali Market was crowd. women were waiting on mehndi artist stall for own turn. All city Sweet Shop had made extension counter for selling Sweets for customer convenience.
Karwa chauth is an Indian festival which falls 9 days before Diwali where Indian wives observed a day-long fast i.e. without eating even without drinking water and pray to god for the success and good health of their husband. Early morning before sunrise wives start their day on Karwachauth with ‘Sargi’. Sargi is what mother-in-law give their daughter-in-law sumptuous food.
Markets are full of items needed for Karwachauth. Ladies start preparations before one week in advance. They decorate their hands with mehendi designs; wear all jewelry and new clothes. They get ready as bride.
City’s restaurants offer food for fasts. Many Hotels, restaurants, Clubs organize Karwachauth celebration to honor them and help them to kill the time.
